(IN BRIEF) Merck has partnered with NTU Singapore’s Digital Trust Centre (DTC) to advance digital trust technologies in industries requiring high security and compliance. The collaboration will deploy Merck’s digital-physical trust platform in Singapore, the first of its kind in Asia Pacific, enabling secure, automated, and traceable digital processes. This partnership combines Merck’s innovative technology with NTU’s expertise to drive digital transformation and enhance transparency in highly regulated sectors, supporting Singapore’s position as a leader in digital trust within the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) market.

(PRESS RELEASE) DARMSTADT, 22-Nov-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Merck, a global leader in science and technology, has partnered with the Digital Trust Centre (DTC) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore to accelerate the development and deployment of cutting-edge digital trust solutions. The collaboration aims to create secure, automated, and traceable digital-physical ecosystems for industries requiring high levels of security and compliance, particularly in regulated sectors.

The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and will focus on implementing Merck’s innovative digital-physical trust platform, which immutably links physical objects with digital identities. This technology is designed to drive digital transformation across Singapore’s industries, enhancing efficiency, building transparency, and fostering trust in value chains.

“As industries face growing expectations for quality control and compliance, it’s essential to transition from traditional methods to more reliable digital frameworks,” said James Kugler, Chief Digital Officer of Merck and CEO of EMD Digital. “This partnership introduces our digital-physical trust technology to Singapore, marking the first deployment of this innovation in Asia Pacific and expanding Merck’s digital footprint just months after launching our Digital Hub in Singapore.”

Professor Lam Kwok Yan, NTU Singapore’s Associate Vice President (Strategy & Partnerships) and Executive Director of the Digital Trust Centre, emphasized the alignment of the collaboration with NTU’s mission: “Our work at the Digital Trust Centre is focused on advancing trust in digital-physical ecosystems through research and innovation. By combining NTU’s expertise in trust technologies and Merck’s pioneering solutions, we aim to develop scalable platforms that deliver security, transparency, and efficiency to industries where trust is paramount.”

This initiative supports Singapore’s ambitions to become a global leader in digital trust technologies, particularly within the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) market. Leveraging NTU’s research capabilities and Merck’s multi-patented platform, the partnership will enable Singapore-based companies to securely access and manage critical data, laying the groundwork for future-ready digital transformation.

The collaboration reflects Merck’s commitment to expanding its digital business in Singapore and driving impactful innovation within the region, ensuring industries are equipped with the tools to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
