(PRESS RELEASE) AMSTERDAM, 20-Oct-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Logicor, one of Europe’s leading owners, managers, and developers of logistics assets, has announced the successful leasing of its 40,000 sqm logistics facility in El Pla de Santa María (Tarragona) to Normal, a Danish retail chain known for its wide range of everyday essentials. The deal, achieved through close collaboration with Cushman & Wakefield and ACCIÓ-Catalonia Trade & Investment (Government of Catalonia), marks an important step in boosting regional economic development and sustainability.

As part of the agreement, Logicor will upgrade the facility to meet Normal’s operational needs, incorporating a new mezzanine structure, climate-controlled zones, and a specialised storage area for flammable goods, all compliant with advanced safety and sustainability standards. Once completed, the facility’s gross leasable area (GLA) will expand to 41,690 sqm.

Normal, which operates over 900 stores across nine European countries, is making a major entry into the Spanish market. Its first logistics centre outside Denmark will serve as a vital hub for supplying stores across Spain, Portugal, and southern France, strategically located less than 100 km from Barcelona and near the French border.

Pilar Valencia, Country Manager for Spain at Logicor, commented:

“We are proud that Normal has chosen one of our platforms for its logistics debut in Spain. This agreement reflects Logicor’s strategic vision to ensure the availability and efficient flow of essential products. Together with our partners, we are contributing to Catalonia’s continued growth and confirming the region’s importance as a logistics and industrial hub for Southern Europe.”

Normal’s Chief Logistics Officer, Niels Katholm, added:

“This warehouse will be our first outside Denmark, and it represents an exciting milestone in our growth journey. Its location, size, and flexibility make it a cornerstone for our warehouse and distribution network, and we are eager to begin operations and recruit local talent.”

Cushman & Wakefield and Forcadell co-led the marketing of the asset, while ACCIÓ-Catalonia Trade & Investment played a key role in promoting the investment’s strategic significance for Catalonia. Pere Morcillo, Head of Industrial and Logistics, Spain at Cushman & Wakefield, noted that the transaction was one of the most significant logistics deals in Catalonia this year, reducing available space in Tarragona by 10% and reaffirming the area’s strong market momentum.

The logistics centre features more than 39,000 sqm of warehouse space and 1,500 sqm of office area, with 44 loading docks and a clear height of 10 meters. Upon completion of upgrades, the total GLA will reach approximately 41,700 sqm — solidifying its position as a premier facility for innovation, sustainability, and operational efficiency in Southern Europe.
