(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 5-Nov-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Lloyds Banking Group has become the first bank in the UK to achieve the Fertility Friendly Employer Accreditation, awarded by Fertility Matters at Work (FMAW). This recognition underscores Lloyds’ dedication to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) and its commitment to supporting employees through fertility journeys and family-related challenges.

The accreditation is based on a rigorous assessment by FMAW, evaluating fertility policies, support initiatives, and training programs. Lloyds’ strong internal support network, flexible working options, and events were key factors in earning this accolade. As part of its DE&I-focused approach, Lloyds provides paid time off for fertility treatments and has doubled the leave period for employees experiencing pregnancy loss.

Recognizing that fertility treatments and loss impact a significant portion of the workforce, Lloyds Banking Group aims to lead by example in fostering an inclusive environment. Rachel Osikoya, Director of DE&I, emphasized the bank’s commitment to creating a supportive culture, while Chief People & Places Officer Sharon Doherty highlighted the importance of enabling employees to thrive personally and professionally.

With this accreditation, Lloyds is setting a precedent in the financial industry, showcasing its leadership in creating a family-friendly workplace that embraces diverse life experiences.
