Laurent Benatar appointed Technical Director at of Orange France

Laurent Benatar has been appointed Technical Director of Orange France, effective today. He will also continue his work as Information Systems Director, a role he has held for the past 3 years.

04-9-2013 — /EuropaWire/ — He replaced Philippe Chicaud, to whom we offer our heartiest  thanks for his commitment and success throughout his 35 years with the  Group.

Laurent Benatar, aged 45, is a graduate of Ecole  Polytechnique Télécoms. He has spent his entire career with Orange,  since joining the Group in 1992. His career has included both stints in  operational management in technical fields and management  responsibilities in functions such as customer service, networks and  Information Systems. From 1999 to 2001, he served as the project manager  for the ADSL launch in Paris. He was appointed Operational Process  Director in 2007, and in 2010 took on responsibility for Information  Systems, a transversal function which impacts all of the Group’s  universes (fixed and mobile) and markets (mass market, business,  wholesale).

Throughout his career, Laurent has supported the  enhancement of networks and contributed to major projects including the  Cloud and Data Center, as well as the release of new offers such as Open  and Fibre. He has developed close relationships with other functions  and is noted for his highly responsive approach to deploying new offers,  particularly with the launch of Sosh, Orange’s 100% digital and  participative brand.

Orange France brings together France  Telecom Orange’s activities throughout France. It employs a staff of  80,000 and posted sales of over 21 billion Euros in 2012, close to half  of the Group’s total business.
