(PRESS RELEASE) COLOGNE, 20-Feb-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — LANXESS has officially launched its India Application Development Center (IADC) in Thane, Mumbai, further enhancing its innovation capabilities and strengthening customer service in the region. The inauguration ceremony, led by Matthias Zachert, Chairman of the Board of Management at LANXESS AG, marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth strategy in India.

India is viewed as a critical market for LANXESS, offering vast potential for innovation and collaboration. “India represents a strategic growth region for LANXESS, and this new center reaffirms our commitment to providing specialized, customer-focused solutions while accelerating our innovation-driven growth,” said Zachert. “This is a momentous occasion, as it also coincides with our 20th anniversary in India, giving us two reasons to celebrate.”

The India Application Development Center is a strategic initiative to bring LANXESS’ expertise closer to its Indian customers. It combines knowledge from two major business segments: Lubricant Additives, which include high-performance additives, synthetic base fluids, and ready-to-use lubricants, and Material Protection Products, offering solutions for antimicrobial protection, disinfection, and preservation.

This center will support advanced research, such as studies on friction and wear in lubricants, testing new materials, and evaluating the antimicrobial effectiveness of water-based products like paints and emulsions. “The IADC is a vital step in our ability to serve Indian customers with precision and speed, adapting to the evolving market demands,” remarked Namitesh Roy Choudhury, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of LANXESS India.

The IADC also signifies LANXESS’s transformation into a specialized chemicals company, focusing on less cyclical industries and solutions related to sustainable mobility and consumer protection. India’s booming industrial sector and rapidly growing consumer markets provide an ideal foundation for these innovations.

LANXESS has been present in India for many years, with representation across all 10 of its business units and a dedicated workforce of around 800 employees. The company operates two production hubs in the country—one in Jhagadia, Gujarat, which serves its Rhein Chemie, Liquid Purification Technologies, and Material Protection Products units, and another in Nagda, Madhya Pradesh, focused on flavors and fragrances.
