He will transition into a non-executive role, focusing on children’s education initiatives through the LEGO Foundation, KIRKBI Education, and BrainPOP. Knudstorp remains committed to advancing educational efforts while also maintaining roles on several other boards.

(PRESS RELEASE) BILLUND, 10-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — After over 20 years of leadership at LEGO and KIRKBI, Jørgen Vig Knudstorp has announced his decision to step down from his executive role by the end of 2024, transitioning into a non-executive position. Knudstorp, who played a key role in revitalizing LEGO during his tenure as CEO from 2004-2016, will now focus on educational initiatives in his new phase.

Knudstorp will continue as Deputy Chair of the LEGO Foundation and Non-Executive Chair of KIRKBI Education business activities, including BrainPOP Inc. He will also maintain board positions at IMD and Starbucks, as well as advising at Innovation Endeavors. His shift reflects a personal passion for education and a dedication to shaping future learning outcomes.
