(IN BRIEF) Metso has appointed Jonathan Allen as Chief Growth Officer, effective May 1, 2026, placing him in charge of a broad Business Growth function that includes strategy, M&A, AI, sustainability, and corporate development areas. Allen, who has been with the company since 2005, brings extensive leadership experience from roles across the United States and France, most recently serving as Senior Vice President for a key business line within the Services division. He will report to CEO Sami Takaluoma and succeed Claudia Genin, who is set to leave the company by August 2026. The appointment reflects Metso’s focus on strengthening its growth strategy, accelerating transformation, and reinforcing its leadership position in the industry.

(PRESS RELEASE) ESPOO, 2-Apr-2026 — /EuropaWire/ —  Metso has appointed Jonathan Allen as its new Chief Growth Officer, effective May 1, 2026. In this role, he will oversee the company’s Business Growth function, which brings together key areas including Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions, AI, Data and Analytics, Sustainability, Safety, Quality, Communications and Public Affairs, Marketing and Brand, as well as Corporate Procurement. He will join the Metso Leadership Team and report directly to Sami Takaluoma.

Allen takes over the position from Claudia Genin, who is set to depart from the company no later than August 2026, following an earlier announcement.

Having joined Metso in 2005, Allen brings more than two decades of experience within the organization. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President for the Grinding, Bulk, Pyro and Smelting business line and was part of the Services business area leadership team. Over the course of his career, he has held a range of leadership roles across France and the United States, contributing to business development, product strategy, and operational growth. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University.

Allen expressed enthusiasm about stepping into the new role, highlighting his long-standing connection with the company and his commitment to advancing its strategic direction. He emphasized the importance of working collaboratively across global teams to build on Metso’s existing strengths, accelerate transformation efforts, and continue delivering strong value to customers and stakeholders.

Takaluoma noted that Allen’s deep understanding of the industry, combined with his extensive experience within Metso and proven leadership capabilities, makes him well-suited to lead the Business Growth function.
