(PRESS RELEASE) HANOVER, 31-Mar-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — At Hannover Messe 2025, Siemens and Accenture (NYSE: ACN) unveiled the formation of the Accenture Siemens Business Group, marking a significant evolution of their enduring partnership. This new dedicated business practice is set to unite over 7,000 professionals—experts with extensive experience in manufacturing and IT—to drive the creation and scaling of software-defined products and factories across multiple industries. By merging Siemens’ cutting-edge automation, industrial AI, and comprehensive software offerings from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio with Accenture’s advanced data and AI capabilities, the collaboration aims to revolutionize the engineering and manufacturing landscape.

Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens, remarked, “By strengthening our partnership, we combine the unique capabilities of two market leaders: Siemens’ technology, access to data and deep domain knowledge in software, automation and industrial AI with Accenture’s power to apply data and AI in engineering and manufacturing. With the new business group, we will empower customers in all industries to supercharge their entire value chain by embedding AI at the core of their businesses.” Julie Sweet, Chair and CEO of Accenture, added, “Engineering and manufacturing are the next digital frontier. The Accenture Siemens Business Group scales the power of automation, data, and AI to help clients reinvent their products and how they make them. Together with our long-standing partner Siemens, we will increase speed and efficiency, reduce cost and strengthen the digital core, which is essential for continuous reinvention and the creation of new value.”

The new business group will co-develop and jointly market innovative solutions for clients spanning industries such as aerospace and defense, automotive, consumer goods, electronics, heavy equipment, industrial machinery, semiconductors, and transportation. Its service portfolio includes reinventing engineering and R&D models by creating global engineering capability centers, developing software-defined products, and enhancing the use of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) as well as the software-defined vehicle (SDV) framework for automakers.

On the manufacturing side, the group will support the implementation, harmonization, and migration of manufacturing execution systems (MES) to enable real-time tracking and control on the shopfloor. By applying IT principles to shopfloor operations, the group will help clients optimize production through advanced AI-powered processes and robust cybersecurity measures, including Accenture’s Managed Extended Detection and Response (MxDR) platform—a demonstration of which can be seen at Siemens’ Hannover Messe booth in Hall 9, booth 53.

Additionally, the business group will offer industrial asset services encompassing after-sales support, maintenance, repairs, and overhaul. A key element of the initiative is the integration of agentic AI powered by Accenture’s Industry X digital engineering and manufacturing assets. This capability will enable clients to build and customize AI agents and foundation models, ensuring rigorous governance of their AI systems. Demonstrations of embedded generative AI agents using Siemens NX and engineering software from Siemens’ recent acquisition of Altair are available at Accenture’s booth in Hall 17, booth E32. Agentic AI is set to transform product development by automatically validating the impact of engineering changes on feasibility, cost, and performance, while also streamlining processes in product lifecycle management (PLM), asset management, and remote operations.
