(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 1-May-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has announced the appointment of Greg Guyett as its new First Vice President and Head of the Client Services Group, effective from September 1, 2025. He will succeed Jürgen Rigterink, who has held the role since 2018.

In his new position, Mr. Guyett will oversee the teams responsible for banking, advisory, and policy activities that are key to strengthening market economies in the regions where the EBRD operates. The EBRD reported banking investments of €16.6 billion in 2024, underlining the importance of this leadership role.

Greg Guyett, an American national, joins the EBRD after a distinguished career at HSBC Holdings plc, where he currently serves as the Chair of the Strategic Clients Group. Previously, he was the CEO of Global Banking and Markets at HSBC in London and a member of the Group Executive Committee. Before his tenure at HSBC, Mr. Guyett spent 30 years at J.P. Morgan, holding various senior positions, including regional and country CEO and leading global business operations.
