GEA Earns Fifth Consecutive CDP A-List Recognition for Climate Leadership

(IN BRIEF) GEA has been named to CDP’s Climate Action A-List for the fifth consecutive year, placing it among the top performers globally for climate transparency and emissions reduction efforts. The company achieved above-average scores across all CDP assessment categories, with particularly strong results in climate protection. GEA’s climate targets, validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative, include a commitment to reach net-zero emissions across its value chain by 2040 and to generate at least 60 percent of its sales from sustainable solutions by 2030. The recognition underscores GEA’s long-term, science-based approach to sustainability and transparent climate reporting.

(PRESS RELEASE) DÜSSELDORF, 17-Dec-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — GEA has once again been recognized by the international non-profit organization CDP, securing a place on its Climate Action A-List for the fifth year in a row. The distinction positions GEA among a small group of companies worldwide — roughly two percent of more than 24,000 assessed — that demonstrate outstanding performance in climate-related transparency, emissions reduction targets, and concrete climate action.

The renewed top-tier rating reflects the consistency and maturity of GEA’s climate strategy. Compared with the previous year, the company maintained its high overall score, achieving above-average results across all 16 evaluation categories and earning top marks in 12 of them. The CDP rating is widely regarded as a key benchmark for investors, customers, and stakeholders assessing corporate climate performance and credibility.

GEA’s approach to sustainability is closely integrated with its long-term business strategy. According to Chief Sustainability Officer Dr Nadine Sterley, sustainability underpins the company’s Mission 30, which focuses on developing technologies that help entire industries operate more efficiently and with a lower climate impact, while simultaneously reducing GEA’s own emissions throughout its value chain. The continued inclusion on the CDP A-List highlights GEA’s commitment to rigorous data collection, transparent reporting, and measurable environmental progress.

In recent years, GEA has steadily advanced its climate targets, aligning them with scientific standards. Both its medium- and long-term emissions reduction goals have been validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative. The company is working toward achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its full value chain by 2040. In 2024, GEA became the first member of the DAX index family to receive shareholder approval for a “Say on Climate” resolution, based on a comprehensive climate transition plan extending to 2040.

As part of its sustainability roadmap, GEA also aims to significantly expand its portfolio of sustainable solutions. By 2030, the company plans for at least 60 percent of its total sales to come from products and technologies that support more sustainable and climate-friendly operations for its customers.

GEA has participated in CDP’s assessment process since 2021. In the 2025 disclosure cycle, the company received an A rating for climate protection and an A- rating for water security, further reinforcing its position as a leading industrial company in environmental performance and transparency.
