Gasum Launches Ninth Norwegian Liquefied Biogas Station at Moskog Business Park, Norway

(IN BRIEF) Gasum has opened its ninth LBG refueling station in Norway at Moskog Business Park, expanding its network along key highways (E39, E6, E18, RV3, RV7) and offering both compressed and liquefied biogas to commercial carriers and the public. Developed as a pilot with GLP and REMA 1000, the station aims to accelerate the shift from diesel to biogas, supporting REMA’s target to convert its fleet by 2026 and helping Norway achieve its goal of cutting transport emissions by at least 55% by 2030. Stakeholders commend the swift project approval process and highlight biogas’s 90% lifecycle GHG reduction and lower NOₓ emissions. Located at Moøyane 6 in Førde, the facility will facilitate greener regional and long-distance logistics to Oslo, Trondheim, and Bergen.

(PRESS RELEASE) ESPOO, 26-Jun-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Gasum has inaugurated its ninth liquefied biogas (LBG) station in Norway, strategically positioned at Moskog Business Park in Sunnfjord municipality. Serving both local and long-haul carriers as well as the general public, this new facility addresses the growing demand for low-emission transport fuels. It joins Gasum’s expanding network along major corridors including the E39, E6, E18, RV3, and RV7 routes.

Originally launched as a pilot in partnership with the Norwegian Green Land Transport Program (GLP) and REMA 1000, the Moskog station benefitted from industry feedback before moving into full operation. Anders Hustoft, Transport Director at Rema Distribusjon Norway AS, praised Gasum’s proactive station rollout, noting that biogas will be key to REMA’s goal of converting its entire truck fleet away from fossil fuels by the end of 2026.

GLP CEO Ingelin Noresjø hailed the pilot as one of the program’s most tangible successes, while GLP advisor Bjørn Røst Kjørmo highlighted the rapid development and streamlined local approvals that made the project possible. Gasum’s Sales Manager for Traffic in Norway, Jogeir Munkeby, emphasized the station’s role in enabling logistics companies in Førde to cut emissions on both regional and cross-country hauls to Oslo, Trondheim, and Bergen.

Biogas offers a lifecycle greenhouse-gas reduction of around 90% compared to diesel and delivers cleaner air through lower NOₓ emissions. Norway’s transport sector—responsible for one-third of national CO₂ output—must reduce emissions by 55% by 2030 and up to 75% by 2035 to meet climate targets. The Moskog station, at Moøyane 6, 6819 Førde, provides both compressed and liquefied biogas options to support this transition.
