(IN BRIEF) Eviden’s ARPEGE radar threat simulation system was deployed during a NATO Tactical Leadership Program exercise in Spain, providing fighter pilots with realistic training that replicates modern radar-guided threats. Built on the Mobile Radar Threat Simulator portfolio and designed by Eviden’s Avantix electronic warfare specialists, the mobile, modular system uses coordinated vehicles and signal-generation technology to simulate hostile radar environments and evaluate pilot reactions such as evasive maneuvers and countermeasures. Already in operation within multinational electronic warfare training frameworks, ARPEGE supports scalable and rapidly deployable mission rehearsal tailored to evolving radar technologies. The deployment underscores Eviden’s role in strengthening NATO training capabilities and advancing electromagnetic-spectrum readiness for high-intensity operations.

(PRESS RELEASE) AIX-EN-PROVENCE, France, 17-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Eviden, the Atos Group brand focused on mission-critical technologies, has highlighted the successful deployment of its ARPEGE radar threat simulation system during a NATO Tactical Leadership Program (TLP) exercise held in November at Los Llanos Air Base in Albacete, Spain. The system played a key role in delivering highly realistic training scenarios designed to replicate modern combat environments for allied fighter pilots.

Developed by Eviden’s Avantix business, which specializes in electronic warfare solutions, ARPEGE is based on the Mobile Radar Threat Simulator (MRTS) family of systems. It enables armed forces to simulate surface-to-air radar threats during live-flight exercises, allowing pilots to train under conditions closely aligned with real-world operational challenges. The solution has been operational since 2022, including use within the French component of the Multinational Aircrew Electronic Warfare Tactics Facility Polygone¹ in Germany, and is now actively integrated into NATO training activities at Los Llanos.

The ARPEGE configuration combines a central command unit with remotely deployed light vehicles equipped with radar signal generators and tracking antennas. Working together, these elements emit simulated radar signals that “illuminate” aircraft in flight, activating onboard defensive systems. Pilots are evaluated on their tactical responses, including evasive maneuvers, electronic countermeasures such as jamming or decoy deployment, and simulated strike operations.

Designed for rapid deployment and operational flexibility, the system can be networked across multiple mobile platforms connected to an operations control center. Its modular architecture enables customization to meet varying training requirements across different forces and environments, supporting a wide spectrum of mission rehearsal scenarios.

As part of the broader MRTS portfolio, ARPEGE is engineered to evolve alongside next-generation radar technologies and emerging threat landscapes. The scalable range allows air forces to construct complex electromagnetic battlespace simulations tailored to modern warfare needs, strengthening preparedness against advanced air-defense systems.

Through this deployment, Eviden continues to expand its contribution to NATO readiness by providing advanced electromagnetic spectrum capabilities that enhance pilot training and operational effectiveness in high-intensity environments.
