(IN BRIEF) Equinor has signed new long-term framework agreements worth approximately NOK 17 billion with four contractors — Beerenberg/Linjebygg JV, KAEFER Energy, Bilfinger ISP Offshore Norway, and StS-ISONOR — to deliver insulation, scaffolding, and surface treatment services at all its Norwegian onshore plants. Starting January 2026, the contracts will run for four years with options extending up to eight, securing over 1,000 jobs and providing stability across Equinor’s facilities from Stavanger to Hammerfest. The move ensures operational continuity, supports local employment, and strengthens safety and innovation at plants that play a vital role in Europe’s energy supply.

(PRESS RELEASE) STAVANGER, 7-Nov-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Equinor ASA (OSE:EQNR, NYSE:EQNR), has announced the signing of new framework agreements for insulation, scaffolding, and surface treatment (ISS) services across all of its onshore plants in Norway. The contracts, collectively valued at approximately NOK 17 billion, have been awarded to Beerenberg Services AS / Linjebygg AS (a joint venture), KAEFER Energy AS, Bilfinger ISP Offshore Norway AS, and StS-ISONOR AS. Together, these suppliers represent over 1,000 full-time equivalent positions and will support Equinor’s operations for up to eight years — a four-year firm period with two optional two-year extensions.

The new agreements, which take effect on January 1, 2026, ensure a smooth transition as current contracts conclude at the end of 2025. This phased implementation is designed to provide stability for suppliers, allowing for safe and efficient resource planning and staffing continuity.

“These agreements are the result of two years of focused collaboration with the industry to strengthen safety, cooperation, and performance,” said Mette Ottøy, Chief Procurement Officer at Equinor. “We have listened to feedback from industry partners and developed a contract model that provides better control, stability, and opportunities for innovation and skill development.”

The framework agreements cover Equinor’s six major onshore facilities — Kårstø, Mongstad, Sture, Kollsnes, Tjeldbergodden, and Hammerfest LNG — and emphasize the importance of local presence and community impact. According to Christina D. Dreetz, Director of Onshore Plants, “ISS services are essential for safe and efficient operations. These contracts provide predictability and long-term employment across Norway’s coastal regions, from Stavanger to Hammerfest.”

Each of the selected suppliers will oversee specific sites:

  • KAEFER Energy AS at Hammerfest LNG
  • Bilfinger ISP Offshore Norway AS at Kårstø
  • Beerenberg/Linjebygg JV (Altrad) at Mongstad and Tjeldbergodden
  • StS-ISONOR AS at Øygarden (Sture & Kollsnes)

Equinor’s onshore facilities are vital to Norway’s energy infrastructure, processing and refining crude oil and natural gas into products that support both domestic and European energy demand. The plants collectively account for significant employment, with more than 10,000 full-time equivalent jobs connected directly or indirectly to their operations, as highlighted in the 2024 Ripple Effects Report by Kunnskapsparken Bodø.

By awarding these long-term ISS contracts, Equinor reinforces its commitment to safety, local job creation, and sustainable industrial activity while securing operational excellence for Norway’s critical energy hubs.
