These projects will contribute an additional 116 megawatts of power to Germany’s renewable energy grid, marking another significant step in the company’s ongoing expansion.

The newly approved wind parks are set to participate in the Federal Network Agency’s next EEG tender in November 2024, positioning Energiekontor to further solidify its role in Germany’s energy transition. In parallel, construction is about to commence on several other wind and solar projects, adding more than 100 megawatts to Energiekontor’s growing portfolio.

With these latest approvals, Energiekontor now holds 36 building permits across Germany, Scotland, and France, representing a combined capacity of approximately 1.2 gigawatts. This milestone brings the company close to the total generation capacity it has achieved since its inception, underscoring its sustained growth and contribution to renewable energy development.

Energiekontor’s CEO, Peter Szabo, highlighted the significance of these developments, emphasizing that the company has brought more projects into mature development phases than ever before. The focus now is on the successful realization of these projects, which will contribute to Energiekontor’s broader goal of expanding renewable energy production.

Since its founding, Energiekontor has completed over 160 wind and solar parks with a total generation capacity of 1.4 gigawatts, enough to power approximately 810,000 German households annually and prevent around two million tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.
