EIB Group Champions European Start-Ups at 2023 Web Summit

(IN BRIEF) The EIB Group, represented by EIB Vice-President Ricardo Mourinho Félix and a team of finance and innovation experts, is set to spotlight its support for innovation and start-ups in Europe at the 2023 Web Summit in Lisbon from November 13 to 16. They will showcase their collaborative efforts with the European Innovation Council (EIC) at a dedicated stand, demonstrating their commitment to mobilizing financial resources and technical expertise to empower innovative start-ups and high-growth companies across the continent. This initiative underscores the EIB Group’s pivotal role in nurturing the European innovation ecosystem.

(PRESS RELEASE) LUXEMBOURG, 10-Nov-2023— /EuropaWire/ — The EIB Group will be present with an own stand at the 2023 Web Summit in Lisbon to showcase its support for start-ups and fast-growing companies in Europe from 13-16 November.

At the EIB Group and European Innovation Council (EIC) Stand (E223 Pavilion 2), the European Investment Bank, the European Investment Fund, and the EIC will  demonstrate how their work to mobilise finance and technical expertise to support innovative start-ups and companies.

Background

Digital technology, sustainable economy, and climate action to build a competitive, sustainable and digital European economy with SMEs as key drivers, are some of the main objectives underlying the EIB Group’s activity.

The EIB Group acts as a catalyst for numerous European companies through all the stages of development to access financing in Europe and has provided around €18 billion to support innovation and skills in 2022 and a further €16 billion to support 430 000 SMEs and mid-caps in Europe.
