DNV Partners with ITS to Boost Indonesia’s Maritime and Energy Education with Focus on Sustainability and Innovation

(IN BRIEF) DNV has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in Indonesia to support the development of the country’s maritime and energy sectors. The partnership includes initiatives such as providing ITS’s academic community with access to DNV’s standards and offering students internships and practical training. The collaboration aims to address key challenges such as energy transition, AI integration, and carbon capture, fostering excellence in education and research. DNV’s support will also help ITS students and lecturers build skills for future industry leadership.

(PRESS RELEASE) BÆRUM, 5-Jun-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — DNV and Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), a prominent university in Indonesia, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the country’s maritime and energy sectors. The collaboration was formalized on 3 June at the ITS Rectorate Building and will focus on several initiatives aimed at enriching education, research, and community service in Indonesia.

As part of the agreement, DNV will provide ITS’s academic community with access to its extensive standards, rules, and guidelines, further improving the quality of education and research at the institution. DNV will also offer ITS students opportunities for internships and practical training, while young lecturers will have the chance to participate in technical assistance programs hosted by DNV.

This MoU builds on the existing relationship between DNV and ITS and will help address key challenges in the maritime and energy sectors, including the energy transition, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), and carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS). The partnership aims to foster a culture of excellence by supporting the development of students who will lead these critical industries in the future.
