(PRESS RELEASE) BÆRUM, 12-Sep-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — DNV has certified Songlilai Trading Enterprise Pte Ltd and its subsidiary Junshin Sushi Pte Ltd under the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) Chain of Custody (CoC) standard. The official certifications were presented during a ceremony at Seafood Expo Asia in Singapore, underscoring both companies’ commitment to sustainable seafood sourcing and supply chain transparency.

The Chain of Custody standard ensures seafood products can be traced back to a certified sustainable source—either an MSC-certified fishery or an ASC-certified farm—and remain clearly identifiable at every stage of the supply chain until reaching the end consumer. This strengthens trust, prevents fraud, and provides customers with confidence that seafood has been responsibly sourced.

Songlilai Trading Enterprise, a wholesaler and processor of fresh and frozen seafood, along with Junshin Sushi, a food catering business, supply hotels and premium food service providers. With sustainability credentials now a growing priority in the hospitality sector, the certifications allow both companies to meet customer expectations while reinforcing their competitive advantage in a market that increasingly demands environmentally responsible practices.

Chris Tan, Director of Songlilai Trading Enterprise, commented:
“Traceability is fundamental to our operation. Certification ensures product integrity, strengthens sustainability and food safety, helps prevent fraud, and builds trust. In the hospitality sector, this ability to guarantee sourcing and respond quickly to concerns is essential. Certification also helps us stand out in tenders and negotiations, especially with multinational hotel chains that prioritize sustainability.”

The certification process has not only provided external validation but also enhanced internal operations by streamlining traceability systems, strengthening compliance, and reducing the risk of delivery errors or quality issues.

Silas Ding, Area Manager South East Asia at DNV, added:
“With the MSC and ASC Chain of Custody certifications, Songlilai Trading Enterprise and Junshin Sushi have shown clear commitment to sustainable seafood sourcing and transparent supply chains. This positions them strongly in a market that increasingly values environmentally responsible sourcing and trust.”

Chris Tan further noted the choice of certification partner:
“We chose DNV for their strong reputation in seafood certification and sustainability. Their global expertise, transparent auditing, and practical guidance made the process constructive and aligned with our goals.”

DNV has formally awarded the following certifications:

  • Songlilai Trading Enterprise Pte Ltd: MSC Chain of Custody, ASC Chain of Custody
