(PRESS RELEASE) BERLIN, 14-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Danish transport and logistics giant DSV has agreed to purchase Deutsche Bahn’s subsidiary, DB Schenker, for an enterprise value of €14.3 billion, with the total sales value expected to reach €14.8 billion. The deal, subject to approval from Deutsche Bahn’s Supervisory Board and the German government, is set to finalize in 2025. DSV aims to invest around €1 billion in Germany over the next three to five years, strengthening its position in the global logistics market.

The acquisition is part of Deutsche Bahn’s strategic focus on its core business, prioritizing rail infrastructure and climate-friendly transport under its “Strong Rail” strategy.
