CTP secures Siemens Energy as major tenant at CTPark Mülheim with 20,000 sqm lease in Germany’s Rhine-Ruhr region

(IN BRIEF) CTP has signed a 20,000 sqm lease with Siemens Energy at its new CTPark Mülheim industrial and logistics park in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, following a recent agreement with E.ON subsidiary Westenergie. The Siemens Energy site, scheduled for groundbreaking in 2026 and completion in 2027, will include warehouse, office, and outdoor space, serving as a service center for power plant tools and global operations. The facility will be equipped with solar panels and EV charging stations, with DGNB Gold certification targeted. The CTPark Mülheim project is transforming a former Vallourec rolling mill into a 160,000 sqm high-tech business park for sectors including life sciences and IT manufacturing. Regional leaders highlighted the economic impact for Mülheim, while Siemens Energy emphasized synergies with existing facilities and sustainability goals, including carbon neutrality by 2030.

(PRESS RELEASE) AMSTERDAM, 6-Sep-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — CTP, Europe’s largest listed developer, owner, and operator of industrial and logistics real estate by gross lettable area (GLA), has secured a 20,000 sqm lease with Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG at CTPark Mülheim, its upcoming industrial and logistics park in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. This agreement follows a recent 12,000 sqm lease signed with Westenergie AG, a subsidiary of E.ON SE, further confirming the site’s rapid emergence as a high-tech hub for leading global businesses.

Acquired by CTP in late 2023 from Vallourec, the 335,000 sqm brownfield site is being redeveloped into a modern, sustainable business park offering more than 160,000 sqm of flexible space for R&D, laboratories, co-working, and industrial activities across growth industries such as life sciences and IT manufacturing.

Siemens Energy commitment
Siemens Energy will occupy around 20,000 sqm, consisting of 17,400 sqm of warehouse space, 2,450 sqm of office, technical, and social areas, and 2,500 sqm of outdoor space. Construction of the facility will begin with a groundbreaking in summer 2026, with completion scheduled for the second quarter of 2027. The company will use the site as a service center for storing, maintaining, and preparing tools for global power plant projects.

To support Siemens Energy’s sustainability targets, the facility will feature photovoltaic panels and EV charging points for both cars and trucks. CTP is aiming for DGNB Gold certification for the buildings and the broader park, underlining its commitment to environmentally responsible development.

Strategic location and regional impact
Located in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan area, the property benefits from access to major motorways (A2, A3, A42, A52, A59), enabling efficient connections to Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Dortmund, and Essen, as well as to major European ports in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Stefan Pieper, Head of Siemens Energy’s Mülheim location, said: “The new site will allow us to consolidate and expand our Field Service operations, complementing our existing facilities in Mülheim. This expansion creates synergies and strengthens our global service activities.”

Roman Erke, Head of Real Estate for Western Germany at Siemens Energy, added: “The project’s sustainable construction and planned LEED Gold certification represent another step toward Siemens Energy’s ambition of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030.”

Marc Buchholz, Lord Mayor of Mülheim an der Ruhr, commented: “CTP’s redevelopment of this historic industrial site is a major boost for our local economy. The decision by Siemens Energy to join Westenergie as tenants demonstrates the site’s attractiveness and signals a bright future for our city.”

Timo Hielscher, Managing Director M&A for Germany at CTP, said: “Signing Siemens Energy as our second tenant before construction has even started demonstrates the strength of the Rhine-Ruhr market and the appeal of sustainably developed, well-connected sites. We thank Siemens Energy and the city of Mülheim for their partnership as we bring CTPark Mülheim to life.”
