Carlos Zarlenga Appointed to Lead Stellantis North America, Focusing on Electrification and Performance Improvement

(IN BRIEF) Stellantis has announced that Carlos Zarlenga will assume the role of leading Stellantis North America, effective February 1, 2024, taking over from Mark Stewart. Zarlenga, who brings over a decade of automotive experience and a strong financial background, has already demonstrated his leadership abilities in his role as President of Stellantis Mexico, delivering impressive sales performance and profitability in the region. Zarlenga’s appointment aims to drive improvements in Stellantis’ performance in North America and advance the electrification initiatives in the challenging North American market. Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares expressed confidence in Zarlenga’s ability to unite diverse teams and deliver results, while also thanking Mark Stewart for his contributions over a three-year cycle.

Carlos Zarlenga is a seasoned leader with more than a decade of automotive experience in EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America, together with a strong financial background. Since he joined Stellantis in 2022 as President of Stellantis Mexico, he has delivered a year-on-year improvement in sales performance, market share and AOI, leading to the best profit level ever recorded in Mexico.

Carlos Zarlenga graduated from Universidad de Belgrano – Buenos Aires, Argentina.
