British Gas Extends PeakSave Offer to Support Fans During Paris 2024 Olympics

(IN BRIEF) British Gas is extending its PeakSave offer to provide half-price electricity to customers during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, from 28th July to 8th September. The offer, available every Sunday and on two Saturdays, encourages homeowners to use electricity during off-peak times to support a greener energy supply. Over 600,000 customers have benefited from PeakSave since its launch, saving money and reducing carbon emissions. Additionally, British Gas is trialing PeakSave for Business, offering 50% off electricity on Fridays. The initiative aims to help fans cheer on Team GB and ParalympicsGB while promoting energy efficiency.

(PRESS RELEASE) WINDSOR, 2-Aug-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — In celebration of its partnership with Team GB and ParalympicsGB, British Gas is extending its PeakSave offer to provide half-price electricity to millions of homeowners during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. This initiative aims to help fans tune into the games while promoting energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy.

From 28th July to 8th September, British Gas will offer half-price electricity every Sunday from 9am to 5pm, as well as on Saturdays 3rd August and 7th September. PeakSave encourages homeowners to shift their electricity usage to periods of lower demand or higher renewable energy availability, thus supporting a greener energy supply.

Launched last year, PeakSave has already helped over 600,000 customers save money and use cleaner energy. British Gas customers with a smart meter can easily register for the offer, and savings will appear as credit on their energy bills.

In addition to residential offers, British Gas is launching a PeakSave for Business trial from 26th July to 30th August, offering participating businesses 50% off electricity every Friday from 11am to 4pm. This trial follows the success of the residential PeakSave program, which has collectively saved customers over £11 million and reduced carbon emissions by approximately 326 tonnes.

British Gas will also screen the games for free in 10 pubs, allowing fans to watch events such as athletics, beach volleyball, rowing, and swimming.
