(PRESS RELEASE) FRANKFURT, 17-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Bilfinger, a global leader in industrial services, has secured a significant Project Management and Consultancy (PMC) contract from Egyptian Chemical Industries (KIMA) for the construction of a new chemical and fertilizer plant in Aswan, Egypt. This contract represents a key step in Bilfinger’s expansion into Egypt’s burgeoning chemical sector.

The new facility will produce 600 tons of nitric acid daily, which will be transformed into 800 tons of granulated ammonium nitrate, a crucial fertilizer for increasing crop yields. Bilfinger’s role will involve managing all phases of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), ensuring that the project meets KIMA’s high standards.

KIMA, a prominent player in Egypt’s nitrogen-based fertilizer industry, sees this $300 million investment as essential to boosting production capacity and meeting both domestic and international demand. Bilfinger will oversee a third-party contractor consortium, with work taking place across multiple sites, including India and Egypt.
