BAE Systems Secures U.S. Marine Corps Contract for ACV-30mm, Enhancing Lethality and Mobility

(IN BRIEF) BAE Systems has secured a $188.5 million contract from the U.S. Marine Corps for the production of 30 ACV-30mm vehicles. The contract, part of the FRP Lot 5/6 initiative, includes fielding support, spares, and test equipment. The ACV-30mm integrates a 30mm Remote Turret System and is optimized for both land and sea operations. BAE Systems is also producing other variants of the ACV, including the ACV-Personnel, ACV-Command, and ACV-Recovery, all designed to support the Marine Corps’ operational needs.

(PRESS RELEASE) FARNBOROUGH, 30-Apr-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — BAE Systems has been awarded a $188.5 million full-rate production (FRP) contract from the U.S. Marine Corps for the production of 30 ACV-30mm vehicles. This contract, which includes fielding support, spares, and test equipment, marks the first award under the FRP Lot 5/6 contract.

The ACV-30mm is designed to transport troops, mission-essential equipment, and other payloads while providing the lethality and protection needed by Marines. The vehicle is equipped with an integrated medium-caliber Remote Turret System, which the government is procuring separately and will integrate at the Naval Information Warfare Integration Center Atlantic. The lightweight turret system ensures the mobility of the platform is maintained, while enhancing the vehicle’s direct-fire capabilities with a 30mm fully stabilized weapon system.

“We are excited to support the Marine Corps with the ACV-30, which has been tested and proven to be incredibly adaptable for a variety of missions,” said Rebecca McGrane, Vice President of Amphibious Programs at BAE Systems. “Not only does the ACV swim, but it’s also optimized for ship-to-shore operations, island-hopping, and advanced land missions. The 30mm weapon system significantly enhances lethality, ensuring Marines are ready for any mission, whether on land or at sea.”

In addition to the ACV-30mm, BAE Systems is under contract for the ACV-Personnel (ACV-P) and ACV-Command (ACV-C) variants. The ACV-P variant can transport 13 combat-loaded Marines and three crew members, while the ACV-C provides workstations for Marines to maintain and manage situational awareness in battle. The company is also developing the ACV-Recovery (ACV-R) variant, with three Production Representative Test vehicles under construction. The ACV-R will provide field maintenance, recovery, and repair capabilities for the Assault Amphibian Companies supporting the Marine Division.

Work on the ACV-30mm will take place across BAE Systems’ facilities in York, Pennsylvania; Johnstown, Pennsylvania; and Charleston, South Carolina, with delivery expected through the third quarter of 2026.
