ANDRITZ Helps Revibat Launch Innovative System to Recycle Glass Wool Waste into Building Insulation Panels

(IN BRIEF) ANDRITZ has supplied and commissioned an advanced neXline airlay system for Revibat in France, which allows the company to convert glass wool waste into valuable building insulation panels, reducing landfill waste and the carbon footprint. The system processes up to 1,500 kg of fiber per hour and produces a specialized nonwoven material, marking a significant advancement in the circular economy for the insulation industry. Revibat aims to expand this solution across France, bringing production closer to the waste source to further reduce emissions. This collaboration highlights Revibat’s commitment to recycling and eco-friendly construction practices.

(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 13-Feb-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — International technology group ANDRITZ has successfully supplied and commissioned a cutting-edge neXline airlay system at Revibat’s facility in France. The new system, which was inaugurated in early February, is designed to enable the production of building insulation panels made from glass wool waste, which would otherwise end up in landfills.

With this advanced ANDRITZ system, Revibat can now process complex waste materials collected from the Paris region, turning them into valuable products. This innovative solution tackles two critical issues: giving a second life to glass wool waste and significantly reducing the carbon footprint across the entire production process.

The neXline airlay system processes up to 1,500 kg of fiber per hour and is uniquely engineered to produce a specialized nonwoven material. This breakthrough represents a significant step forward in promoting a circular economy within the insulation industry.

Nicolas Brousse, CEO of Revibat, commented, “The ANDRITZ neXline airlay system marks a pivotal moment in our business. It allows us to start producing building insulation panels from glass wool waste, which is an important milestone in our sustainability journey. Our goal is to expand this innovative solution throughout France, bringing production closer to the waste source and further minimizing our carbon footprint. We are grateful for the collaboration with the ANDRITZ team in Cours, whose expertise has been invaluable in the development of this unique product.”

Revibat, a company specializing in manufacturing construction materials from recycled waste, has long been committed to finding solutions for glass wool recycling—an issue that had previously not been solved. With its state-of-the-art laboratory and industrial-scale processing capabilities, Revibat is positioning itself as a key player in the recycling of building materials and supporting eco-organizations in their efforts to collect, consolidate, and recover construction waste.
