(PRESS RELEASE) LUND, 24-Mar-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Alfa Laval is further expanding its hygienic valve lineup by launching several new products designed to meet the increasing demands of safe and efficient processing in industries such as dairy, food, beverage, and home and personal care. The new introductions include the Unique SSV Pressure Relief Valve, the Leakage Detection Butterfly Valve, as well as additional, smaller sizes for both the Unique Mixproof CIP and Unique Mixproof Process valves. This expansion underscores Alfa Laval’s dedication to offering dependable, high-performance valve solutions that ensure process safety, maintain product integrity, and protect consumers while addressing evolving industry requirements.

The Unique SSV Pressure Relief Valve is engineered to prevent overpressure in hygienic processing lines, particularly where positive displacement pumps are used. Integrated with Alfa Laval’s ThinkTop® technology for advanced valve monitoring and control, this valve safeguards operational efficiency, productivity, and safety. Its pressure relief setpoints can be easily adjusted on-site to accommodate varying conditions. Based on the well-established SSV platform, this modular valve benefits from shared spare parts across the product range, streamlining maintenance and reducing service costs. Additionally, its full Clean-In-Place (CIP) capability, regardless of the pressure setting, ensures reliable hygiene and continuous performance with minimal downtime.

Complementing the portfolio is the Leakage Detection Butterfly Valve, which offers enhanced safety and efficiency. Equipped with ThinkTop® for real-time monitoring and control, this valve quickly identifies leakage issues, allowing for immediate intervention to preserve system performance. Its compact design—featuring a single seal, disc, and actuator—reduces installation and maintenance expenses while minimizing operational costs. Fully CIP-able, the valve is designed to maximize uptime and energy, water, and cleaning media savings.

Alfa Laval is also broadening the Unique Mixproof valve range by introducing two new sizes – 1” (DN25) and 1½” (DN40) – for both the Unique Mixproof CIP and Unique Mixproof Process valves. These smaller double-seat valves maintain high cleanability and pressure resistance while offering greater adaptability, enabling manufacturers to integrate more compact CIP skids, valve matrices, and dosing lines without sacrificing safety.

With these strategic product enhancements, Alfa Laval reaffirms its commitment to meeting the dynamic needs of hygienic processing industries. By providing practical, high-quality valves that bolster operational performance and safety, the company continues to support manufacturers in customizing solutions that cater to their specific processing requirements.

Paw Kramer, Portfolio Manager, Valves and Automation at Alfa Laval, emphasizes, “By prioritizing product and equipment safety in combination with efficiency and reliability, we continue to support manufacturers in the dairy, food, beverage, and home and personal care industries. These additions provide manufacturers with greater flexibility to customize valve solutions to meet their processing requirements.”
