(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 4-Aug-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK’s leading ports operator, has secured a significant new tenant at the Port of Hull, leasing a 158,000 sq ft warehousing unit—equivalent to over two Premier League football pitches—with an additional 53,000 sq ft canopy at King George Dock. The facility, overlooking the Humber Estuary and adjacent to Hull Container Terminal, will be occupied by Mitsubishi Chemical UK Limited, a division of the global Mitsubishi Chemical Group.

Andrew Dawes, Regional Director for ABP’s Humber ports, commented, “We’re thrilled to welcome Mitsubishi Chemical UK to Hull. This letting underlines our dedication to supplying adaptable, high-quality industrial space that supports our customers’ growth and enhances the region’s logistics capabilities.”

Greg Lacey, Head of Property (Humber) at ABP, added, “Port-based warehousing gives companies direct access to major shipping routes, cutting transit times and costs. Our modern facilities help businesses streamline their supply chains and respond swiftly to project needs, driving long-term regional prosperity.”

Mitsubishi Chemical UK’s PUMA Lead Construction Delivery Manager, Michael Curtis, noted, “This new shed at the Port of Hull represents a strategic commitment to our Saltend Chemicals Park operations and the wider Humber area. It underpins the doubling of our production capacity and strengthens our ability to serve global markets.”

The warehouse will support Mitsubishi’s contractor, Fluor Corporation, in developing the SoarnoL™ ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) plant at Saltend Chemicals Park, reinforcing the Humber’s status as a hub for advanced chemical manufacturing.
