Shell ships first LNG cargo from Prelude Floating Liquefied Natural Gas facility in Australia

(PRESS RELEASE) THE HAGUE, 11-Jun-2019 — /EuropaWire/ — Shell announces the first shipment of Liquefied Natural Gas from its Prelude Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility. The facility is located 475kms North East of Broome in Western Australia. Valencia Knutsen will deliver this shipment to customers in Asia.

About Prelude:

The Shell-operated Prelude FLNG facility is an offshore development in a remote field approximately 475km north-north east of Broome in Western Australia. The Prelude FLNG facility will produce 3.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG, 1.3 mtpa of condensate and 0.4 mtpa of LPG. It is operated by Shell in joint venture with INPEX (17.5%), KOGAS (10%) and OPIC (5%).
