(PRESS RELEASE) ROTTERDAM, 2-Mar-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Eneco today announced that Martijn Hagens has officially taken up his position as Chief Executive Officer of N.V. Eneco, following the earlier announcement of his appointment on 23 August last year. In his new role, Hagens will lead the company’s strategic direction as it continues to expand its activities in sustainable energy and supports the ongoing energy transition.

When his appointment was confirmed, Hagens expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to lead Eneco and highlighted his commitment to delivering reliable and sustainable energy solutions for both customers and society. He described Eneco as a forward-looking organisation strongly focused on accelerating the transition to cleaner energy and said he looked forward to working with employees across the company to strengthen both the energy transition and Eneco’s long-term growth.

Hagens succeeds Kees-Jan Rameau, who has served as Acting Chief Executive Officer since the summer. Rameau will remain on Eneco’s Management Board and will continue in his role as Chief Operating Officer Integrated Energy & Assets.

Mel Kroon, Chair of Eneco’s Supervisory Board, thanked Rameau for taking on the responsibilities of Acting CEO and acknowledged the achievements realized during his tenure in the interim leadership role.

Before joining Eneco, Hagens held senior positions at Vattenfall, where he served as Senior Vice President and Head of Business Area Markets and was a member of the Executive Group Management. In addition to his functional responsibilities, he also led the company’s operations in the Netherlands as Chief Executive Officer of Vattenfall N.V.
