(PRESS RELEASE) HAMBURG, 3-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Otto Group will welcome Dr. Philipp Andrée to its Executive Board on 1 April, marking an important leadership transition for the international retail and e-commerce group. He will take over from Sergio Bucher, who will step down from the Executive Board but remain closely involved with the company in a new capacity as a member of the Otto Group Supervisory Board.

In his new role as Member of the Executive Board for Brands and Retail, Dr. Andrée will assume strategic responsibility for several key Otto Group business units. This includes chairing the advisory boards of Crate & Barrel, Manufactum, Frankonia, and Freemans & Grattan, as well as overseeing Otto International’s global sourcing activities. His appointment is intended to further strengthen the Group’s focus on digitally driven retail, brand development, and scalable business models.

Dr. Andrée joins Otto Group from the Douglas Group, where he has served as Chief Commercial Officer and a member of the Executive Board since January 2023. Prior to this, he spent more than seven years at Tchibo, the Hamburg-based coffee and retail company, most recently holding board-level responsibility for digital and marketing functions. Earlier in his career, he founded and led the online fashion platform Department47, which he later successfully sold. He began his professional journey at McKinsey & Company and holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Hamburg as well as a doctorate in marketing from the University of Hamburg.

Benjamin Otto, designated Chair of the Otto Group Foundation and Shareholders’ Council, welcomed the appointment, describing Dr. Andrée as a highly accomplished expert in e-commerce and digital transformation. He expressed confidence that Andrée’s experience in profitability, digitalization, and scaling business models would play a significant role in advancing Otto Group’s strategic direction and shaping its future growth.

Sergio Bucher, who has been a member of the Otto Group Executive Board since February 2020, has made a lasting impact on the company’s international development and corporate culture. During his tenure, he contributed to the strategic evolution of the Group’s diverse portfolio and championed a more open, inclusive, and globally oriented organizational culture. His leadership has also been recognized externally, including receiving the “Diversity Ambassador” award as part of the Impact of Diversity Awards.

Prof. Dr. Michael Otto, current Chair of the Foundation and Shareholders’ Council and Honorary Chair of the Supervisory Board, thanked Bucher for his commitment and achievements over the past six years. He highlighted Bucher’s significant contributions to the Group’s success and expressed appreciation for his continued involvement as a member of the Supervisory Board and the Bonprix Advisory Board.
