Swissport Strengthens Board with Former Kuehne+Nagel CEO Detlef Trefzger to Drive Global Expansion

(PRESS RELEASE) ZURICH, 25-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Swissport International AG, a global leader in airport ground services and air cargo handling, has announced the appointment of Detlef Trefzger as a Non-Executive Director on its Board of Directors. Trefzger, the former CEO of Kuehne+Nagel International AG, brings a wealth of experience from his time leading the world’s largest logistics company, where he was instrumental in advancing digitalization and sustainability efforts.

During his time at Kuehne+Nagel from 2013 to 2022, Trefzger played a key role in expanding the company’s airfreight capabilities, particularly through the acquisition of Apex International in Asia. Prior to his leadership at Kuehne+Nagel, he held senior roles at DB Schenker AG and began his career at Siemens AG before transitioning to consulting at Roland Berger & Partner.

Alongside his new position at Swissport, Trefzger currently serves on the boards of multiple organizations, including easyJet plc (UK), Accelleron Industries AG (Switzerland), Swiss Prime Site AG (Switzerland), and PSA International (Singapore). He is also the founder of advisory firm Larix Equity and serves as an operating advisor for private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice.
