Voith Launches Aladin Beyond: Cloud-Based Predictive Maintenance for Bus Drive Systems

(IN BRIEF) Voith Turbo’s new Aladin Beyond platform integrates cloud-based analytics with the SmartCase data collector to offer end-to-end monitoring and predictive maintenance for bus drive systems. Continuous fault detection—including recurrent and resolved issues—combined with historical data analysis enables early maintenance interventions, reducing costs and downtime. Automated alerts can trigger direct parts ordering via Voith’s webshop, and efficiency metrics like braking and kick-down rates help optimize driving habits. Reports are delivered as accessible PDFs across devices, giving fleet managers real-time visibility. Voith will showcase Aladin Beyond at Busworld Europe 2025 in Brussels.

(PRESS RELEASE) HEIDENHEIM, 11-Jul-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Voith Turbo has unveiled Aladin Beyond, a cloud-native platform for comprehensive, data-driven monitoring and maintenance of its Electrical Drive System and DIWA automatic transmission in bus fleets. Leveraging decades of experience in the bus segment and integrated with the SmartCase tool, Aladin Beyond delivers consolidated diagnostics and actionable insights in a single, automated report.

SmartCase streams all pertinent vehicle data to the cloud, where Aladin Beyond’s advanced monitoring engine continuously analyzes performance, detects current faults, and flags issues thought resolved—providing fleet managers with early visibility of recurring problems. Historical data evaluation enables truly predictive maintenance, allowing teams to address emerging failures before they escalate, thereby lowering lifecycle costs, preserving asset value, and optimizing uptime.

Aladin Beyond automatically notifies maintenance personnel of identified issues and, if desired, links directly to the Voith Turbo spare parts webshop so required components can be ordered straight from the report. The system also assesses driving efficiency metrics—such as braking events per kilometer and frequency of kick-down accelerations—helping operators identify and correct wear-intensive driving behaviors.

All diagnostic reports and analyses are delivered as device-agnostic PDFs, accessible anytime on desktop, tablet, or smartphone, ensuring fleet managers maintain a constant overview. According to Tobias Ehrensperger, Head of Product Management Service at Voith Turbo, “Aladin Beyond represents a milestone in bus operation digitalization, combining Voith’s product expertise with top-tier data diagnostics to drive more efficient maintenance cycles, reduce downtime, and enhance overall cost efficiency.”

Discover Aladin Beyond at Busworld Europe 2025 in Brussels, October 4–9, at Voith’s Booth 517 in Hall 5.
