Veteran Academic Leader Jos Keurentjes Appointed Dean of TU/e’s Chemical Engineering & Chemistry Department

(IN BRIEF) Jos Keurentjes has been appointed as the new dean of the Department of Chemical Engineering & Chemistry at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), starting September 1, 2024. Keurentjes, who previously worked as a professor at TU/e for ten years, brings extensive experience from his recent role as Director of the Centre for Energy Innovation at the University of Twente and other significant positions in industry. He succeeds Kitty Nijmeijer, who will return to a full-time professorship. The university’s leadership is confident in Keurentjes’ ability to guide the department’s future development.

(PRESS RELEASE) EINDHOVEN, 31-Aug-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — The Department of Chemical Engineering & Chemistry at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is set to welcome Jos Keurentjes as its new dean, starting September 1, 2024. Keurentjes, a seasoned leader with an extensive background in both academia and industry, is returning to TU/e where he previously served as a professor for a decade.

Keurentjes brings a wealth of experience to the role, having recently served as the Director of the Centre for Energy Innovation at the University of Twente. His career also includes significant positions such as Corporate Director of Technology at AkzoNobel and a leadership role at TNO from 2014 to 2020. A graduate and PhD holder from Wageningen University, Keurentjes has a strong track record of driving innovation and excellence in various scientific and industrial sectors.

Rector Silvia Lenaerts expressed the university’s enthusiasm about the appointment, stating, “We are exceptionally pleased to have found someone of Jos’s caliber to guide the department.
