(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 9-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Adyen and Uber have extended and expanded their long-standing global partnership, deepening their collaboration to support Uber’s payment processing capabilities across additional markets while introducing new payment experiences for users. The two companies, which first began working together in 2012, are strengthening their integration as Uber continues to scale its mobility and delivery services in more than 70 countries worldwide.

Under the enhanced agreement, Uber will make broader use of Adyen’s Checkout API to integrate a wider range of payment methods, improving flexibility for riders, drivers, and delivery customers. This includes enabling more local and alternative payment options that align with consumer preferences in different regions. Among the newly supported markets are the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, and parts of the Caribbean, alongside expanded local acquiring in Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, and Australia. Uber is also adopting high-growth payment methods such as Pix in Brazil, AfterPay in Australia, and WeChat Pay for travellers booking Uber through the WeChat mini app.

Beyond traditional in-app payments, the two companies are also collaborating on new payment innovations to support Uber’s evolving business model. This includes enabling payments for Uber kiosks deployed in airports, hotels, and other high-traffic venues around the world. These initiatives reflect a shared focus on making payments more seamless, scalable, and adaptable to different use cases.

Trevor Nies, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Digital at Adyen, stated that the expanded partnership demonstrates a mutual commitment to global growth and innovation. He highlighted that Adyen has already supported significant transaction volume increases across 40 key markets over the past year, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Brazil, and emphasized that the company will continue to enhance Uber’s payment experience through new integrations and technological advancements.

Karl Hébert, Vice President of Global Commerce at Uber, described a reliable and innovative payments infrastructure as essential to Uber’s international expansion. He noted that working more closely with Adyen enables Uber to rapidly integrate new payment methods and pursue new business opportunities, ensuring a smoother experience for users across different regions.

As part of their collaboration, Uber has introduced a new kiosk-based booking system powered by Adyen terminals. The kiosks offer a phone-free way for travellers to request rides, making them particularly useful for visitors without local mobile data or those who do not have the Uber app installed. Users can enter their destination, select a ride type, and receive a printed receipt with trip details. The first kiosk was launched at Terminal C of LaGuardia Airport in New York, with further deployments planned for hotels, ports, and international airports in the coming months.
