Orkla tops the retail sector’s ranking of suppliers to the Norwegian grocery trade.

OSLO, 19-Aug-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — Orkla tops the retail sector’s ranking of suppliers to the Norwegian grocery trade, according to the results of TNS Gallup’s ReMark survey this year.

Orkla Home & Personal Care was placed first in the ReMark industry index by all the grocery chains. The Orkla company Pierre Robert Group is a close second. Orkla Foods Norge shares third place with two other companies.

In sixth place we find Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Norge. Orkla Health is also to be found in the top half of the list, in 20th place.

“The results of this year’s ReMark survey make very gratifying reading for us at Orkla. The survey gives us valuable feedback on how our most important grocery retail customers judge us in comparison with our competitors,” says Orkla President and CEO Peter A. Ruzicka.

The TNS Gallup’s ReMark survey, which is conducted every year, is Norway’s leading tool for measuring retailers’ rating of supplier performance. A total of 173 contact persons from the NorgesGruppen, Rema1000, Coop Norge and Bunnpris grocery chains responded to the questions in this year’s ReMark survey, which was carried out in the period from March to May 2016.

The questions answered by the respondents cover the following six topic areas:

  • Assortment and product range
  • Field sales
  • Logistics and supply chain
  • Innovation and creative thinking
  • In-store activities
  • Key account system

A total of 57 suppliers were rated on a scale of 0 to 100 points in each of the above-mentioned areas. Based on the sum of these scores, the suppliers were ranked according to the retailers’ overall impression.

“At Orkla we’ll now take a closer look at the results and how our companies have scored in the various areas. The good results attained in this year’s survey will by no means be used as a reason to rest on our laurels; on the contrary, they will serve as a basis for continuing our good work and focusing on how we can do an even better job in the various areas,” Mr Ruzicka says.
