(PRESS RELEASE) MADRID, 27-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Telefónica is expanding the exhibition space at its Movistar Centre store in Plaça Catalunya, Barcelona, creating a redesigned showroom where visitors can explore the latest technology innovations from leading manufacturers in a single location. The reorganization will take effect on March 2 to coincide with the start of Mobile World Congress, transforming the store’s ground floor into a large interactive technology showcase.

The redesigned Floor 0 will function as an immersive exhibition area organized by technology categories and manufacturers. Visitors will be able to explore and test a wide range of devices covering mobile communications, entertainment, connected home solutions, and personal wellbeing technologies. The initiative is intended to bring the latest product launches from Mobile World Congress directly to the public in central Barcelona.

The new layout will include dedicated areas for major technology brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi, and OPPO, where visitors can experience newly launched devices shortly after their official unveiling at the industry event. Meta will showcase its artificial intelligence-powered smart glasses developed with Ray-Ban and Oakley, along with Meta Quest mixed-reality devices. Apple and Google Pixel will present their newest devices and accessories in temporary exhibition areas that are expected to become permanent branded spaces over time.

In addition to manufacturer showcases, the store will introduce themed zones reflecting Movistar’s broader product ecosystem. A Beauty Tech area will feature personal care and beauty devices from brands including Dyson, Foreo, and GHD. A Gaming zone will offer consoles and interactive gaming experiences connected with Movistar services, while an Entertainment area will combine Movistar Plus+ content with advanced television and audiovisual systems.

A Connectivity and Home Ecosystem area will present next-generation routers and smart home products alongside household devices such as robot vacuum cleaners and air fryers. The space will also include a Movistar Prosegur Alarmas display where visitors can explore home and business security solutions through interactive demonstrations.

The redesigned store aims to provide a comprehensive overview of Movistar’s product portfolio, allowing customers to experience multiple categories and brands without visiting separate retail locations across the city.

The ground-floor space will also incorporate a new agora area equipped with a large video wall designed for product presentations, workshops, and demonstrations led by technology brands and Movistar representatives. The venue will host product launches, hands-on sessions, and events featuring industry spokespeople and influencers, strengthening Movistar Centre’s role as a meeting point between technology companies and consumers.

Through this expansion, Movistar Centre is intended to serve as a year-round showcase for the technological ecosystem associated with Mobile World Congress. The initiative forms part of Telefónica’s broader presence at the event and reinforces the company’s long-term connection with Barcelona as a global hub for innovation and connectivity.
