Škoda Begins Vietnamese Assembly of Kushaq in Partnership with Thanh Cong Group

(IN BRIEF) Škoda has launched local assembly and sales of the Kushaq in Vietnam, becoming the first Škoda model built in the country from CKD kits supplied from India. The new Thanh Cong Group joint-venture plant, opened in March 2025, will also produce the Slavia saloon later this year. Pre-production Kushaq vehicles completed over 330,000 km of road-testing and extreme-climate trials. Since entering Vietnam in September 2023, Škoda has opened 15 dealerships—highlighted by a flagship ‘Experience Centre’ in Hanoi—and plans additional outlets through 2025.

(PRESS RELEASE) MLADÁ BOLESLAV, 30-Jun-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Škoda Auto has commenced sales of the Škoda Kushaq in Vietnam, marking the first time a Škoda model is manufactured locally from completely knocked-down (CKD) kits. Assembly takes place at a new plant unveiled in March in collaboration with regional partner Thanh Cong Group, which sources CKD kits from Škoda’s facility in India.

Alongside the Vietnam-assembled Kushaq, Škoda’s lineup in the market includes the Europe-built Karoq and Kodiaq SUVs. Later this year, local production will expand to include the Slavia saloon, also assembled from Indian CKD kits.

Prior to series production, pre-series Kushaq units accumulated over 330,000 km on diverse Vietnamese roadways and underwent rigorous climate trials—from –10 °C cold-start tests to +42 °C high-temperature and high-humidity conditioning—to ensure durability and performance. Since Škoda’s market entry in September 2023, the brand has established 15 dealerships, including its new ‘Experience Centre’ in Hanoi, with further network expansion planned for 2025.
