Schroders Solutions Wins Full OCIO Mandate Following Strategic Review by E.ON UK Group Trustee

(IN BRIEF) Schroders Solutions has been appointed as principal investment manager under a full OCIO mandate for the E.ON UK Group of the Electricity Supply Pension Scheme after a comprehensive strategic review by the Group Trustee focused on long-term value and effective governance. The firm will take overall responsibility for the Scheme’s investments, including managing assets directly, appointing external managers, and exercising discretion over asset realisation to meet cashflow needs in line with the Trustee’s Statement of Investment Principles. The Chair of the Group Trustee praised Schroders Solutions’ strong investment proposition and value for money following a competitive selection process, while Schroders Solutions highlighted its commitment to delivering for the Scheme. The appointment, funded in 2025, follows recent significant mandates awarded to Schroders Solutions by the Aga Rangemaster Group Pension Scheme and the RNIB Retirement Benefits Scheme.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 5-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Schroders Solutions has been selected as principal investment manager under a full Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) mandate for the E.ON UK Group of the Electricity Supply Pension Scheme, following an extensive strategic review by the Group Trustee. The appointment reflects the Trustee’s focus on ensuring long-term value, robust governance, and effective management of the Scheme’s investment strategy.

Under the new mandate, Schroders Solutions will assume overall responsibility for managing the Scheme’s investment portfolio. This includes both direct asset management and the selection and oversight of external investment managers. The firm will also have discretion over the timing of asset realisations to meet the Scheme’s ongoing cashflow requirements, while operating in accordance with the Group Trustee’s Statement of Investment Principles.

The decision follows a competitive selection process in which Schroders Solutions was chosen for its combination of proven investment capabilities, structured approach, and alignment with the Trustee’s objectives.

Martine Trouard-Riolle, Chair of the Group Trustee of the E.ON UK Group of the Electricity Supply Pension Scheme, welcomed the appointment, highlighting that Schroders Solutions demonstrated a compelling balance between established investment expertise and value for money. She emphasized that the selection process had been rigorous and that the outcome reflects confidence in Schroders Solutions’ ability to manage the Scheme’s assets effectively.

Ross Leach, Lead OCIO Strategist at Schroders Solutions, expressed appreciation for the Trustee’s decision, noting that the firm is committed to working closely with the Scheme to deliver strong investment outcomes. He reaffirmed Schroders Solutions’ dedication to meeting the Trustee’s objectives and supporting the long-term interests of the pension scheme’s members.

The mandate, which was funded in 2025, builds on a series of recent successes for Schroders Solutions in the OCIO and fiduciary management space. These include a £740 million Fiduciary Management mandate from the Aga Rangemaster Group Pension Scheme and a £170 million Fiduciary Management mandate from the Royal National Institute of Blind People’s Retirement Benefits Scheme, reinforcing the firm’s growing presence in the UK institutional investment market.
