(IN BRIEF) Schaeffler AG and Neura Robotics have entered a strategic partnership to co-develop and supply key components for humanoid robots, including advanced actuators designed for continuous industrial use. Under the agreement, Schaeffler will integrate thousands of Neura humanoids into its global production network by 2035 while contributing engineering expertise and real-world data to Neura’s Physical AI ecosystem, the Neuraverse. The partnership focuses on developing AI-enhanced humanoid capabilities based on real manufacturing environments, positioning both companies at the forefront of industrial robotics innovation. The alliance underscores Schaeffler’s role as a preferred technology partner and strengthens Germany’s standing as a leader in next-generation industrial automation.

(PRESS RELEASE) HERZOGENAURACH / METZINGEN, 4-Nov-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Schaeffler AG and Neura Robotics have announced a groundbreaking partnership that will shape the future of industrial humanoid robotics. The collaboration combines Schaeffler’s decades of engineering and manufacturing expertise with Neura Robotics’ leadership in cognitive robotics to jointly develop and produce key components for humanoid robots, including advanced actuator systems. The partnership also includes a long-term offtake agreement for humanoid robots and their integration into Schaeffler’s global production network.

As part of this initiative, Schaeffler plans to deploy a mid-four-digit number of Neura humanoid robots in its worldwide production facilities by 2035, enhancing efficiency and flexibility across manufacturing operations. In turn, Neura Robotics will secure a substantial portion of its demand for compact, high-torque actuators designed for continuous industrial operation — a critical technology for enabling humanoids to perform complex, repetitive tasks with human-like precision.

The collaboration extends beyond component supply, encompassing the joint development of industrial humanoid capabilities through shared data and innovation. Both companies will contribute real-world application data to the Neuraverse, Neura Robotics’ global cognitive ecosystem that powers the evolution of Physical AI. This data-driven platform accelerates the learning and adaptability of humanoid robots, enabling continuous optimization of their capabilities for industrial use.

“Humanoid robotics is a key growth segment for Schaeffler, and Neura is one of Europe’s most innovative players in this space,” said Andreas Schick, Chief Operating Officer of Schaeffler AG. “By combining our technological strengths, we are not only reinforcing our own competitive edge but also setting benchmarks for Germany’s position as a global innovation hub. Our partnership highlights Schaeffler’s role as a preferred technology partner in the emerging humanoid robotics sector.”

David Reger, CEO and founder of Neura Robotics, added: “With Schaeffler, one of Germany’s most accomplished industrial companies is taking an active role in shaping the future of robotics. Just as the German automotive and automation sectors once transformed global manufacturing, we aim to bring humanoid robotics to industrial scale. Together, we are building a global ecosystem for Physical AI rooted in European data independence and innovation.”

The partnership emphasizes the use of live production data to develop new AI-driven capabilities for humanoid applications. By collecting motion and interaction data directly from manufacturing environments, both partners will refine how humanoid robots learn and perform complex, collaborative tasks. This joint effort will not only expand the Neuraverse database but also enhance the humanoids’ adaptive potential in industrial workflows.

Schaeffler will further contribute its engineering excellence in planetary gear actuators, essential for humanoid joints that perform precise, continuous rotational movements such as shoulders, elbows, knees, and wrists. Designed for compactness and strength, these actuators can deliver up to 250 Nm of torque, enabling humanoids like Neura’s 4NE1 model to handle heavy industrial workloads efficiently.

This strategic alliance marks a significant milestone in Europe’s journey toward the industrialization of humanoid robotics, blending Schaeffler’s manufacturing strength with Neura’s AI-driven robotics intelligence to create the foundation for the next generation of cognitive, human-capable machines.
