RWE Appoints Communications Veteran Birgit Hiller as Successor to Stephanie Schunck

(IN BRIEF) Birgit Hiller will become Head of Group Communications and Public Affairs at RWE Group on 1 October 2025, bringing with her experience leading Communications & Public Affairs at Continental AG since 2021 and over 18 years in communications roles at BMW Group. She succeeds Stephanie Schunck, who is retiring after a distinguished 30‑plus‑year career at RWE and will remain in post until year‑end to ensure a smooth transition. CEO Markus Krebber praised Schunck’s contributions and welcomed Hiller’s appointment. Hiller highlighted the importance of effective communication in RWE’s effort to achieve a carbon‑neutral, cost‑efficient, and secure energy system.

(PRESS RELEASE) ESSEN, 15-Jul-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — RWE Group has appointed Birgit Hiller as its new Head of Group Communications and Public Affairs, effective 1 October 2025. Since 2021, Hiller has overseen Communications & Public Affairs at Continental AG, and before that she spent over 18 years in various specialist and leadership roles at BMW Group. She will succeed Stephanie Schunck, who has decided to retire after more than 30 years with RWE. To guarantee a seamless handover, Schunck will remain in her current role through the end of 2025.
