PwC to offer advisory and taxation services in Bangladesh by opening new office in Dhaka

Eyes growth in Tax, Forensics, Cybersecurity, Government, Digital and Infrastructure Advisory

DHAKA, Bangladesh, 26-Apr-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — PwC today announced the inauguration of its office in Dhaka, further leveraging the opportunity to partner Bangladesh in its growth journey by offering services in areas of advisory and taxation. The new office was inaugurated by Honourable Finance Minister Mr Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, with British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Alison Blake and Deputy Chief of Mission of US Embassy in Dhaka, David Meale in attendance.

Until now, people across the PwC network travelled to Bangladesh to work on various assignments. Setting up of this office is in line with the rising importance of Bangladesh in a global business scenario and PwC’s commitment to the country, its potential and its talent.

PwC Bangladesh plans to recruit and develop about 500 professionals locally in the next five years from across educational backgrounds (for example, engineering, management, chartered accountancy). The Firm is also working with local professional bodies like the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) to groom industry ready professionals.
