Porsche Design unveils its art collaboration with pop artist Thierry Noir at Temple House, Miami Beach

A Glimpse on Art by Thierry Noir and Porsche Design

Stuttgart, Germany / Miami, FL, USA, 09-12-2013 — /EuropaWire/ — Porsche Design unveils its art collaboration with Berlin based pop artist Thierry Noir at Temple House, Miami Beach. The luxury brand created a unique installation during Art Basel Miami Beach: “The Heart of Freedom” reveals the limited collection of Noir’s 200 hand painted Porsche Design TwinBags.

Thierry Noir has taken the brand’s iconic TwinBag and incorporated his own signature hand-painted ‘heart faces’ on a very limited edition. The result is a collection of 200 unique handbags which have been presented during the event and in the art installation. The event was attended by the art and fashion world’s elite.

In honour of Thierry Noir’s life and work Porsche Design showcased two original pieces from the Berlin Wall, which have been shipped from Berlin (Germany) for the event only. Additionally they have been exclusively re-painted in Miami by Thierry Noir prior to the event.

Born in 1958 in Lyon (France) Thierry Noir moved to Berlin in January of 1982, attracted by the music of David Bowie and Iggy Pop, who lived in West Berlin at this time. From April 1984, Thierry Noir started to paint the Berlin wall. As the years went by, the paintings took on phenomenal proportions, which were rapidly recognized among the international arts community. His wall works survived the longest of any artist after the fall of the wall in 1989.

The unique and limited collection of Porsche Design’s Thierry Noir TwinBag will be available to purchase in Porsche Design Stores around the world from January 2014.
