PGZ S.A. appoints Nr Sebastian Chwałek as new vice-president

WARSAW, 05-Oct-2018 — /EuropaWire/ — The Supervisory Board of PGZ S.A. has decided to appoint Nr Sebastian Chwałek the new vice-president of the company. Until now Sebastian Chwałek acted as the secretary of state at the Ministry of National Defence.

As a result of the qualification procedure for the position of the Company’s Vice-president of the Board announced on 20 September 2018 the Supervisory Board has selected the most fitting candidate and pursuant to the company’s articles of association it has submitted a request to the Minister of National Defence to issue and opinion regarding the candidate.

Minister Mariusz Błaszczak approved the candidate proposed by the Supervisory Board of PGZ S.A., and therefore, as of 1 October 2018 Mr Sebastian Chwałek is the new Vice-president of the Board of PGZ S.A.

Sebastian Chwałek graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow. In 2013 he commenced his doctoral studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Łazarski University in Warsaw.

From 22 January 2018 he has been the under-secretary of state at the Ministry of National Defence where he has been responsible for the modernisation of the Polish Army and supervising the arms sector companies.

On 18 November 2015 he was appointed the under-secretary of state at the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. On 10 May 2017 he assumed the role of the secretary of state at the same Ministry as well as the role of the Government’s Plenipotentiary for Repatriation. While working for the Ministry of the Interior and Administration he was responsible for public administration matters, including co-operation with local governments and supervision of province governors. He was also responsible for legal and legislative matters, as well as issues related to religious beliefs and ethnic minorities. He also supervised departmental health service and the operations of the citizenship and repatriation department.

During the years 2005-2007 he was the head of the Legislation and Analysis Team at the Law and Justice Parliamentary Club Office. In 2007 he held the role of counsellor to the Prime Minister and he directed the work of the Department of Parliamentary Matters of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, collaborating with the Deputy Prime Minister, the late Przemysław Gosiewski. During the years 2007-2015 he was the Office’s deputy director and head of the Legislation and Analysis Team at the Law and Justice Parliamentary Club.
