New Chapter for Egis in Africa Combines Organisational Streamlining with Continued Investment in Transport Energy and Urban Infrastructure

(IN BRIEF) Egis has restructured part of its African operations to sharpen its strategic focus on major engineering, infrastructure, and concession projects, transferring six country subsidiaries to the newly formed Infras Group through a management buyout led by former regional leadership. While ownership of those entities changes, staff and operations remain intact, and Egis continues its presence in 25 African countries with active projects in transport, energy, water, and aviation infrastructure as well as major road and airport concessions. Under new regional leadership, the company aims to drive targeted growth from hubs in Morocco and South Africa while expanding advisory services and sustainable engineering solutions, reflecting a long-term commitment to Africa’s infrastructure development.

(PRESS RELEASE) GUYANCOURT, 20-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Egis, the global architecture, consulting, engineering, operations and mobility services group, has unveiled the next stage of its long-term development strategy in Africa, reaffirming its commitment to the continent while refining its operational focus on engineering, infrastructure operations and maintenance, and concession-based projects. With more than 75 years of activity in Africa, the Group is restructuring part of its regional footprint to support targeted growth in priority sectors.

As part of this evolution, six Egis subsidiaries located in Cameroon, Madagascar (Inframad), Senegal, Kenya, Côte d’Ivoire, and Rwanda have transitioned to a newly established independent company, Infras Group. The move follows a management buyout led by Arnaud de Rugy, former Managing Director of Egis in Africa, alongside Francis Ramiaramanana and a team of senior executives. Arnaud de Rugy, working with the six country directors, will guide the transition to ensure continuity for employees, clients, and partners. The change affects ownership only, with all existing roles and organisational structures maintained.

Despite this transfer, Egis continues to operate in 25 African countries, where it remains active in engineering, consultancy, and project management services. The Group also maintains involvement in major infrastructure concessions, including long-term road projects in Congo, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Uganda, as well as airport concessions in Côte d’Ivoire and Congo Brazzaville and airport operations and maintenance in Zanzibar.

To lead the next phase of development, Laure Russier has been appointed Managing Director of Egis in Africa. She will oversee the implementation of the Group’s updated regional roadmap, which prioritises expansion in rail, urban mobility, ports, aviation infrastructure, buildings, water systems, and energy projects, alongside operations, maintenance, and transport concessions.

Egis will deliver this strategy through its principal hubs in Morocco, which hosts the African head office, and South Africa. The company also intends to scale up advisory and engineering services with an emphasis on innovation and sustainable solutions tailored to the continent’s evolving infrastructure needs.

Headquartered in Casablanca, Infras Group employs more than 500 people across six countries and provides infrastructure engineering services throughout Africa, positioning itself as a pan-African platform under its new leadership.

This organisational shift marks a renewed chapter for Egis in Africa, enabling the Group to concentrate on large-scale, high-impact projects while maintaining collaboration with Infras Group to ensure uninterrupted service delivery to clients.
