Mutares Sells WIJ Special Media to N2COM to Strengthen Strategic Focus of Prénatal Business

(IN BRIEF) Mutares has divested WIJ Special Media B.V., a Netherlands-based data and media company focused on young families, to N2COM as part of a strategic move to streamline its Prénatal portfolio. The transaction allows Prénatal to focus on retail activities while enabling WSM to operate independently and accelerate innovation and growth in its data-driven media services. The divestment reflects Mutares’ strategy of refining portfolio companies to unlock value and support long-term development.

(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, 17-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Mutares SE & Co. KGaA has completed the divestment of WIJ Special Media B.V. (WSM), a data-driven media business previously part of its portfolio company Prénatal, to N2COM. The transaction is intended to support the next phase of growth for both organisations by sharpening their respective strategic focus.

Founded in 1974 and headquartered in Blokker, the Netherlands, WSM has developed into a prominent media and data platform targeting expectant parents and young families. The company combines first-party data insights with targeted media, consumer engagement channels and B2B services, reaching more than 80 percent of pregnant women in the Dutch market through publications, sampling programmes, digital platforms and public-sector campaigns.

WSM became part of Prénatal Netherlands following Mutares’ acquisition of the retailer in December 2023, a move aimed at strengthening its presence in the young family and parenting segment. Since then, Prénatal’s retail platform has supported WSM’s operational development, while WSM’s media and data capabilities contributed to reinforcing Prénatal’s market positioning.

The sale enables Prénatal to concentrate on its core retail operations while allowing WSM to pursue expansion as an independent business under new ownership. The new structure is expected to provide WSM with additional resources to accelerate innovation, enhance its data-driven services and expand its reach within the young family demographic.

The divestment aligns with Mutares’ broader portfolio strategy of focusing on core assets, creating operational value and positioning businesses for sustainable, standalone growth, while maintaining a professional relationship between Prénatal and WSM going forward.
