Louis Dreyfus Company Appoints Nigel Mamalis as Interim CFO Following Leadership Transition

(IN BRIEF) Louis Dreyfus Company has named Nigel Mamalis as Interim Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately, following the unexpected death of Group CFO Patrick Treuer. With more than 30 years of experience across finance, trading, risk, and senior management roles within the Group, Mamalis brings deep institutional knowledge to the position. Based in Geneva and reporting to the Group CEO, he will provide continuity in financial leadership during the transition.

(PRESS RELEASE) ROTTERDAM, 6-Jan-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) has appointed Nigel Mamalis as Interim Chief Financial Officer with immediate effect. The decision follows the sudden passing of LDC’s Group Chief Financial Officer, Patrick Treuer, in late December.

Mr. Mamalis steps into the interim role after supporting the Group in an advisory capacity since 2019. His relationship with LDC spans more than three decades, during which he has held a wide range of senior leadership roles across multiple business functions and regions. His experience covers trading, risk management, finance, and corporate leadership, including responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer for Europe & Black Sea, Deputy Group CFO, Chief Compliance & Risk Officer, and Senior Head of Merchandizing Platforms.

Michael Gelchie, Chief Executive Officer of LDC, said that Mr. Mamalis’ long-standing involvement with the Group and deep familiarity with its operations position him well to support the company during this period. He emphasized that Mr. Mamalis has consistently contributed to the Group’s development by combining strategic insight with extensive industry knowledge.

As Interim Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Mamalis will oversee LDC’s financial organization and support the Group’s ongoing strategic and operational priorities. He will report directly to the Group CEO and will be based in Geneva, Switzerland, ensuring stability and continuity within the finance function.
