Jérôme Hénique Appointed CEO of Orange France, While Yasser Shaker Takes the Helm at Orange Middle East and Africa

(IN BRIEF) Orange has appointed Jérôme Hénique as CEO of Orange France, effective 1 June 2025, succeeding Jean-François Fallacher. Hénique, who has led Orange Middle East and Africa since 2022, will also join the Board of Directors of Orange MEA. Yasser Shaker, currently CEO of Orange Egypt, will become CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa starting 1 July 2025. Both appointments aim to continue the company’s growth in their respective regions. Christel Heydemann, CEO of Orange, expressed confidence in their ability to lead and enhance Orange’s activities globally.

(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 6-May-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Orange has today revealed key changes within its Group’s Executive Committee. Jérôme Hénique, the current Executive Vice President and CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa (OMEA), has been appointed as the new Executive Vice President and CEO of Orange France, effective 1 June 2025. In his new role, Hénique will remain a member of the Group Executive Committee and will continue to report directly to Christel Heydemann, CEO of Orange. Additionally, he will join the Board of Directors of Orange Middle East and Africa on the same date.

Jérôme Hénique succeeds Jean-François Fallacher, who has chosen to pursue new responsibilities outside of Orange and has been appointed CEO of Eutelsat Group.

Meanwhile, Yasser Shaker, currently CEO of Orange Egypt, will take over as Executive Vice President, CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa on 1 July 2025. Shaker’s appointment has been agreed upon by the Board of Directors of Orange MEA. He will join the Group Executive Committee and will continue to report to Christel Heydemann.

Biographies:

  • Jérôme Hénique has been leading Orange Middle East and Africa since July 2022. He has held various senior roles across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, including CEO of Orange Jordan and Deputy CEO of the Sonatel Group. He has been instrumental in driving double-digit growth in revenues and EBITDAaL for Orange MEA. Hénique is a graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Postes et Télécommunications and Sciences Po Paris.

Yasser Shaker has served as CEO of Orange Egypt since May 2018, where he oversaw substantial growth and profitability in a challenging economic landscape. Shaker previously served as the Chief Technology and Information Officer (CTIO) for Orange Middle East and Africa. He holds an MBA from Rennes School of Business and a degree in telecommunications engineering from Cairo University.
