(IN BRIEF) HENSOLDT and TYTAN Technologies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a strategic partnership focused on counter-UAS systems and the protection of critical infrastructure. The cooperation brings together TYTAN’s interceptor drone platforms and HENSOLDT’s sensors and Elysion Mission Core command-and-control software to deliver rapidly deployable, Bavarian-made solutions for European airspace security. Signed in Munich during the opening of TYTAN’s new headquarters, the agreement covers joint infrastructure protection initiatives, international defence projects and support for NATO-related requirements, reinforcing Europe’s defence capabilities and technological sovereignty amid rising unmanned aerial threats.

(PRESS RELEASE) TAUFKIRCHEN, 27-Jan-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — HENSOLDT and Munich-based deep-tech company TYTAN Technologies have entered into a strategic partnership to strengthen capabilities in counter-unmanned aerial systems and the protection of critical infrastructure. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding on January 26, marking a formal commitment to jointly develop and deploy solutions addressing the rapidly growing threat posed by unmanned systems.

The agreement was signed during the opening ceremony of TYTAN Technologies’ new headquarters in Munich by Oliver Dörre, Chief Executive Officer of HENSOLDT, and Balázs Nagy, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of TYTAN Technologies. The event took place in the presence of Dr. Markus Söder, Minister President of Bavaria, highlighting the regional and strategic significance of the cooperation for Bavaria’s defence and security ecosystem.

Under the partnership, TYTAN’s cost-effective interceptor drone platforms will be integrated with HENSOLDT’s sensor technologies and its command-and-control software, Elysion Mission Core. Together, the combined solution is intended to deliver an immediately deployable, modular counter-UAS capability designed and manufactured in Bavaria, with a focus on safeguarding European airspace and critical infrastructure.

The cooperation spans several key areas, including the technical integration of TYTAN’s platforms into HENSOLDT’s existing counter-UAS architecture, joint initiatives aimed at protecting critical infrastructure in collaboration with federal and state authorities, and international projects supporting air defence requirements, particularly in the context of NATO and ongoing support for Ukraine. The partnership is designed to accelerate the delivery of operationally proven solutions that can be deployed rapidly in response to evolving security threats.

Both companies emphasise that the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to addressing one of the most pressing challenges in modern security: the increasing prevalence of mass drone warfare. By combining TYTAN’s agility and autonomous interception technologies with HENSOLDT’s system integration expertise and sensor portfolio, the partners aim to enhance defensive capabilities quickly and at scale.

Beyond operational objectives, the partnership also reinforces Europe’s technological sovereignty in the defence sector. It positions Bavaria as a central hub for defence innovation and industrial excellence, while showcasing regional leadership in the development of counter-UAS technologies that are both advanced and cost-effective.
