(PRESS RELEASE) COPENHAGEN, 1-Apr-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Hempel A/S, a global leader in paints and coating solutions, today launched its inaugural podcast, Beyond the Horizon, designed to spark critical conversations about diversity and inclusion within the maritime industry. As a dedicated partner to maritime enterprises, Hempel is using this platform to highlight how greater diversity, equity, and inclusion can drive long-term resilience and sustainability both at sea and onshore.

Season 1, which delves into the theme of diversity in the maritime sector, will feature a series of five episodes where influential voices from across the industry come together to share insights and discuss practical steps for overcoming barriers. Guests include senior executives and thought leaders such as Mia Krogslund-Jørgensen from Hafnia, Jan Dieleman of Cargill Ocean Transportation, and representatives from Copenhagen Business School, The Global Maritime Forum, and Hempel itself.

“We have a responsibility to support the long-term sustainability of the maritime industry not just environmentally, but socially as well,” said Alexander Enström, Executive Vice President and Head of Marine at Hempel. “This podcast is our way of bringing visibility to the diversity challenges we face, while also sharing actionable solutions that can drive meaningful change.”

Beyond the Horizon aims to uncover why diversity is not only a social imperative but also a critical business advantage. The series will address structural and cultural obstacles to progress, the need for collaboration across the industry, and the role of data and communication in accelerating change. It will also explore strategies to make maritime careers more attractive to future generations. While Season 1 focuses on diversity, Hempel plans to expand the podcast to cover other pressing topics relevant to the industries it serves.

The podcast is now available on all major platforms, with the first season set to launch on 31 March 2025.

Beyond the Horizon is available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
