Fermax selects Telefónica Tech’s Kite platform to power remote management of thousands of connected intercom panels

(IN BRIEF) Telefónica Tech has partnered with Fermax to provide managed IoT connectivity for more than 27,000 connected video door entry systems across Spain, France and Portugal using its Kite platform, enabling real-time remote monitoring, secure communications and centralised fleet management. The collaboration supports Fermax’s goal of exceeding 100,000 connected installations by 2030 while enhancing user security and convenience through mobile access via the DuoxMe app and reducing the need for on-site maintenance interventions.

(PRESS RELEASE) MADRID, 3-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Telefónica Tech UK&I has been selected by Fermax, a leading Spanish manufacturer of video door entry, access control and connected home solutions, as its strategic IoT connectivity partner to support the digital transformation of its connected intercom systems across Spain, France and Portugal. Through this collaboration, Telefónica’s digital business unit is deploying its managed IoT connectivity solution via the Kite platform to provide secure, reliable and centrally managed connectivity for Fermax’s network of smart video door entry devices.

The integration of Telefónica Tech’s Kite platform gives Fermax real-time visibility and remote control over its fleet of connected intercom panels, all linked through embedded SIM-IoT cards. This infrastructure enables continuous monitoring, proactive maintenance and streamlined management of thousands of installations without the need for on-site technical interventions. To date, Telefónica Tech has already connected more than 27,000 Fermax video door entry panels, all equipped with 4G technology and non-removable SIM-IoT modules to ensure stable and tamper-resistant communications.

Ángel Sánchez, Director of Business Development at Fermax, said that the partnership is a key pillar of the company’s strategy to expand connected access solutions based on robust and professionally managed IoT connectivity. He emphasised that working with Telefónica Tech allows Fermax to scale its connected fleet with confidence, operate installations from a centralised control environment and build a solid foundation for future digital services for both end users and ecosystem partners.

Juan José González Menaya, Head of IoT Connectivity at Telefónica Tech, highlighted that the integration transforms Fermax’s video door entry systems into fully connected smart devices, delivering a more secure and convenient user experience. He noted that residents can interact with their building access remotely, including opening doors via mobile phone, while the Kite platform enables Fermax to supervise all connected installations centrally, detect anomalies early and prevent potential service disruptions.

Fermax has set an ambitious target to surpass 100,000 connected video door entry systems by 2030, with an expected rollout of between 15,000 and 20,000 new installations per year from 2026 onwards, reflecting growing demand for smart access solutions in residential and commercial environments.

Connected video door entry systems powered by IoT technology offer enhanced efficiency, security and convenience for individuals, businesses and residential communities. Telefónica Tech’s connectivity solution enables Fermax and its network of installers to monitor, manage and maintain devices remotely in real time, improving service quality, accelerating incident resolution and strengthening communications protection.

For end users, the experience is streamlined through the DuoxMe mobile application, which allows residents to see who is calling at the intercom, communicate with visitors and open the door from anywhere. All interactions are protected by encrypted communications and controlled access protocols to prevent unauthorised entry and safeguard privacy.

Beyond convenience, the system strengthens security and intrusion prevention. When someone rings the intercom, users receive an instant notification and can visually verify the visitor through high-quality audio and video before granting access, effectively creating the impression that someone is always at home and reducing potential security risks.
