Experian Launches First UK Credit Score App Inside ChatGPT With Postcode Comparison Tool for Consumer Financial Insights

(IN BRIEF) Experian has launched the United Kingdom’s first credit score application integrated within ChatGPT, introducing a postcode-based credit score comparison tool designed to help consumers better understand their financial standing. The tool uses aggregated and anonymised Experian Credit Score data to show how average credit scores vary by postcode and age group, giving users contextual insights that support financial education and decision-making. Through the conversational AI interface, individuals can quickly explore local and demographic benchmarks and access a simple pathway to sign up and check their personal credit score. The initiative reflects Experian’s strategy to expand secure and intelligent consumer experiences across widely used AI platforms while improving accessibility to financial information. The launch also aims to reach younger consumers, particularly those aged 18 to 34 who represent a large share of ChatGPT users but are less likely to have checked their credit scores. By embedding credit insights within a familiar AI environment, Experian hopes to encourage more people to engage with financial data and develop greater confidence in managing their credit health.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 13-Mar-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Experian has introduced a new financial insight tool by launching the United Kingdom’s first credit score application within ChatGPT, allowing consumers to explore credit score benchmarks directly through a conversational AI interface.

The new feature includes a postcode-based credit score comparison tool that enables users to view how average credit scores vary across geographic areas and age groups. Built using aggregated and anonymised Experian Credit Score data, the service provides consumers with contextual insights about credit health in their local communities and among similar demographic groups.

Through the new experience, users can quickly see average credit score ranges within their postcode and compare them with averages for different age groups. The aim is to give individuals clearer context when thinking about their own credit position and to support broader financial awareness.

The tool also provides a simple pathway for consumers to sign up and check their personal Experian credit score when they choose to do so. By embedding the service within a conversational interface, Experian seeks to create a more intuitive and approachable way for people to engage with financial information.

Additional functionality includes demographic benchmarks and contextual explanations designed to help people interpret credit data more easily. The conversational format is intended to make financial guidance more accessible, particularly for individuals who may feel uncertain about traditional financial tools.

The launch aligns with Experian’s broader strategy to expand secure, intelligent consumer experiences across widely used AI platforms. The initiative is particularly relevant for younger audiences, as individuals aged 18 to 34 represent more than half of ChatGPT’s global user base yet are among those least likely to have previously checked their credit scores.

Edu Castro said the integration brings Experian’s trusted credit data into a widely used digital environment where people already seek everyday information. He noted that the goal is to make it easier for individuals to understand how their credit standing compares with others locally and within their age group, while providing a straightforward route to access their own personalised credit score and financial insights.

Castro added that the new tool represents an important milestone in Experian’s efforts to make its services available wherever consumers prefer to interact digitally, while also expanding access to the UK’s most trusted credit score.

By placing credit score insights directly within ChatGPT, Experian is creating a new channel through which consumers can explore financial information in a familiar and accessible environment. Users can begin using the tool by connecting the Experian application through the App Store or Google Play, then accessing the functionality through ChatGPT.
